Vocabulary: Choosing the Right Channel

A marketing strategy is a business’ plan to reach new people and turn them into paying customers. With social media becoming more popular every day, it can be a great tool for your company! However, you should consider the following first.

Who is your target audience? Who do you really want to be looking at your posts and possibly buying things from you? College-educated women? Adults in the age range of 25-40 years old? Once you decide on your target audience, you can now choose which platform is best for you. Facebook? Instagram? Tiktok? Tiktok has younger users, while Facebook has users of all ages and backgrounds.

You can post on your chosen platform whenever you want, but for many companies, it’s better to make and follow a posting schedule (when and how often you will post). Would you like to post twice a day to reach more of your target audience? Go for it! Many companies want to craft content that reaches their audience, looks good, and gets to the point. These posts take time to make, so keep that in mind when deciding on your posting schedule.

Now you can start to reach your audience! One of your goals will be to get several followers. These are people who follow your company page (agree to see your posts on their timeline) on a social media platform. The more followers you get, the more people you will be able to reach with your message.

Social Media has such a wide range of content, ideas, and brands- with so many different things on social media platforms, your company will surely find its place!
