When it comes to designing a successful blog, your audience has to like what they see!
This starts with the front end, the part of the website that the user will see and interact with. Make sure that the navigation, which helps them move around to different parts of the website, is the same every time they visit the blog, and be sure to put things where blog readers would expect them to be found. Keep your header, the big part at the top that shows your title, simple. Although this may seem a bit complicated, with a good content management system (or CMS), it doesn’t have to be! CMSs (like Blogger or WordPress) are designed to help you create, organize, and publish your content on a blog.
When it comes to creating that content, an editorial brief is where you want to start. In it, you will set clear goals that you want your blog posts to achieve- whether that’s a certain level of audience engagement (such as shares or comments), or whether you just want to tell your customers certain things about your company.
Now you can start writing. Make sure your blog post has engaging content that is interesting to the reader and makes them want to continue reading. If you’re not reaching your goals, then don’t be afraid of editing! Making changes is natural, and this will ensure your blog posts continue to have dynamic content that won’t get boring and outdated. Oh, and don’t forget to add a featured image that illustrates the content at the top of each blog post.
Soon you’ll have a blog readers can’t wait to see!
