Let’s look at the very basics of blogging.
Don’t worry if you don’t know HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). This is the standard language for documents that are designed to be shown in a web browser. You can create a blog using HTML, but for beginners, it’s best to use a free service. Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows you to create blogs. WordPress is also a free platform where you can create a website or blog. In cPanel, a convenient browser-based control panel, you can choose from several software applications (including WordPress) that can help you create your blog.
Once you get your blog up and running, check out the Dashboard whenever you come to the homepage of your blog, and it will provide a summary of the blog on a quick-to read page.
Next are some useful things to add to your blog. Use CAPTCHAs to tell humans and computers apart; you want real people to be reading and commenting, not robots! Adding a landing page can also help with that. You ask visitors to fill out a form with their basic information, and they receive interesting content from you. Make things easier on your blog viewers by using breadcrumbs to let them know where they are on the site when they visit.
Permalinks can also be very useful. These are URLs that link to specific blog posts, and you can use them to connect older blog entries to a current post. A blogroll is a list of other blog recommendations. Using this can be a great way to get other bloggers to share your blog with their readers as well!
