Who is is the SCRUM workshop in English for?
Audience: individuals at the B1 level and above who are working or planning to work in Agile methodology, with a special focus on Scrum, i.e. Product Owners, Scrum Masters, the Development Team, as well as (beyond Scrum) Project Managers and other stakeholders.
The skills you are guaranteed to develop:
- Effective communication in English with the project team and clients from English-speaking countries.
- Vocabulary related to the agile approach to project management (Agile), Scrum values, roles in Scrum, scrum events.
- Estimating tasks (user stories) in English and skillfully arguing your estimation.
- Writing agile epics and user stories, backlog management in English.
- Creation and negotiation of acceptance criteria, DoD, DoR, etc.
- Structuring, reading and interpreting metrics, planning and tracking progress – burndown/ burnup chart, velocity, capacity.
- Conducting interviews with various stakeholders.
- The ability to work in a team consisting of members with different levels of English proficiency.
Course format:
The workshop will be delivered online by experienced language trainers who come from different countries and have experience working in international teams.
The classes are conducted in an interactive format, using a variety of tools such as:
- Multimedia presentations
- Pair discussions
- Group discussions
- Business games and scenarios
- Refresher exercises supported by AI
Meetings are held via Zoom.
Classes run 6:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Monday–Friday and 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. at weekends.
Recommended group size: up to 6 people.

Course content
Scope of the SCRUM workshop in English:
- Scrum team – Product Owner, Scrum Master and development team, QA – profile analysis based on authentic material, most common communication situations, exercises based on idiomatic phrases and informal business language.
- Analysis of internal and/or external customer needs, requirements gathering and effective communication with different stakeholders in English using idiomatic phrases and informal business language.
- User stories, acceptance criteria, DoD, DoR – good stylistic practices, useful phrases to highlight priorities, exercises including idiomatic phrases and informal business language.
- Scrum events – running online meetings with useful phrases for communication, use of idiomatic expressions and informal business language.
- Communicating with the so-called “difficult customer” – dialogue scenes to increase the effectiveness of communication with the customer or team when there is disagreement on requirements or when requirements are not met, exercises involving idiomatic expressions and business register.
- Suggestions and recommendations – reinforcing grammatical correctness with modal verbs, including in exercises involving idiomatic expressions and informal business language.
- Drawing conclusions and summarising in role plays using idiomatic expressions and informal business language
- Teamwork – improving soft skills in the spirit of non-violent communication in English using idiomatic expressions and informal business language.
- Metrics, measuring capacity, velocity, describing charts, drawing conclusions from burndown/ burnup charts.
- Feedback – giving and giving feedback in short dialogue scenes using idiomatic expressions and informal business language
