1. What does your school specialise in?
We provide language training for companies, especially for the IT and e-business sectors. Our courses are taught by experienced teachers who are fluent in English and have relevant industry knowledge. We stand out by our flexible approach and tailoring content and teaching methods to the needs, goals, and preferences of our clients. We understand that every student has a different learning style and goals, so we personalize our courses. We offer the possibility of combining participation in classes with a teacher with self-study on our e-learning platform.
2. On which platform do you conduct online language courses for companies?
We use the Zoom platform, which ensures high-quality real-time audio and video communication, screen sharing capabilities for teachers and students, an interactive whiteboard and breakout rooms, as well as a convenient chat and the ability to send various attachments. Additionally, we have our own Learning Management System (LMS) that provides our students with access to all important information about the course and classes, and allows contact with the teacher. It contains links to classes, lesson materials, additional resources, and any other necessary information.
3. How do you organize language training for companies?
We offer comprehensive organization of language courses. We take care of all the details – from preparing an individual offer, through assessing the employees’ proficiency level, to creating a class schedule. We handle all communication with students, manage their queries promptly, and efficiently process new registrations during the semester. Enrollment is easy and hassle-free.
Before classes begin, we organize a free short online meeting for participants to present the rules of participation, methods, and tools, and to answer any questions related to the course. The course coordinator on the client side has constant access to the e-journal, billing, view of completed hours, reports, etc. Each company also has its own client manager to ensure the best possible service quality.
4. Is online English for companies the only offering?
No. We also teach other languages. The most popular include German, French, Spanish, and Polish for foreigners. We organize language classes upon the client’s request and are able to conduct courses in Swedish, Chinese, and other languages that clients may be interested in.
5. At what proficiency levels are the language courses offered?
Our language courses are tailored to all proficiency levels: from complete beginners (A0) to advanced (C2).
6. What kind of language courses for companies do you offer?
We offer a wide range of individual and group courses, including general and business language, as well as language courses for specific industries such as IT, e-commerce, HR, or logistics. We also conduct English + soft skills workshops, e.g.: Teamwork in English, Problem Solving in English, Project Management in English, etc. Moreover, we offer exam preparation courses, including Business English certificates.
7. What are the qualifications and experience of your teachers?
Our team consists of qualified and experienced teachers, including many native speakers. All our teachers have relevant degrees or have completed courses and training in teaching foreign languages, and hold certificates and diplomas from renowned institutions. We cooperate with over 150 professionals who are fluent in foreign languages and have many years of experience in conducting corporate courses in business and industry-specific language. The average tenure of our teacher is 9 years.
8. How long do individual classes last and how many classes does a corporate language course include?
Eklektika courses are tailored to the individual needs of clients, which means that the length of individual classes as well as the entire course is flexible. The most popular options are 60-minute meetings (2x per week) or 90-minute meetings (1x or 2x per week). We also offer very intensive courses, e.g., 5x per week, as well as webinars for larger groups, e.g., 1-2x per month.
From a language teaching methodology perspective, the more frequent the contact with the language, the better, so we recommend courses at least 2x per week or a combination of meetings with a teacher (1 or 2x per week) with self-study on the e-learning platform.
A typical business English course consists of two semesters, each lasting 5 months, or covers a specified number of meetings depending on the frequency of classes (e.g., 20, 30, 60 hours). Courses usually start in September and run until the end of June, with short breaks during the holiday and vacation periods (at the client’s request). Classes can also continue during the summer period.
Language workshops last a selected number of hours, most often 10, 20, or 30 hours.
Both online language courses and language workshops can be started at any time.
9. What teaching methodology do you use?
We use an eclectic approach to teaching foreign languages, combining different methods such as Communicative Language Teaching (communicative approach), Task-Based Language Learning (task-based approach) and elements of the cognitive and direct methods. In this way, we are able to create a supportive environment where language learning is both effective and enjoyable. We tailor courses to the individual needs and goals of our students, providing dynamic and engaging language training for companies, while ensuring that students develop practical language skills that can be directly applied in their workplace.
10. Do you use textbooks? What materials do you use?
We create our own language materials covering general business and industry-specific topics, e.g., IT, e-commerce, HR, finance, logistics, and other fields. We also use authentic materials and incorporate current content related to emerging trends and technological innovations, business news, and current events. In addition, we cooperate with renowned publishers such as Pearson and Macmillan, supplementing our courses with valuable materials prepared by international experts in foreign language teaching.
11. How do you match students to groups?
We ensure proper group placement by conducting a two-stage language diagnosis. It includes an online written test and a conversation with a methodology specialist. The test assesses language level through concise lexical and grammatical exercises. After the online test, you’ll have a conversation with our methodology specialist, who will evaluate your communication skills, pronunciation, and fluency. It is also an opportunity to ask questions or discuss needs and goals related to language learning.
12. How do you monitor and analyze students’ progress?
We have developed an optimal testing system to monitor and assess the progress of language course participants, confirmed by results analysis with many clients. We place great emphasis on data analysis, course effectiveness assessment, and individual progress evaluation. We use Learning & Teaching Analytics, tools that enable us to gather information about learning patterns, engagement, and progress throughout the course. Thanks to this, we can identify trends and provide feedback, ultimately guaranteeing effective and tailored language learning.
Our progress monitoring system is available in standard and premium versions.
Standard (included in the course price):
– two-stage language diagnosis (online test + conversation with a methodology specialist);
– partial tests conducted during the course (quarterly or semi-annually);
– written assignments with feedback from the teacher;
– evaluation of activity during classes;
– written final test;
– regular feedback from the teacher;
– summary report on students (level, completed hours, test results, recommendation for the new school year).
Premium (additional cost):
– everything in the standard version;
as well as
– detailed entrance test (pre-test);
– English Assessment Centre – an oral exam in the form of group work on a case study with the teacher as an assessor, with detailed feedback for participants;
– individual report with analysis of strengths, areas for development, and recommendations.
13. How is feedback on progress provided to students?
We focus on the following ways of providing feedback:
- oral feedback provided during classes in the form of conversation with students and giving language tips regarding pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary;
- written feedback on assignments and homework, indicating the student’s strengths as well as areas for improvement, and containing specific suggestions and recommendations;
- peer feedback, i.e., feedback from fellow students, which allows for experience sharing and mutual learning;
- self-assessment through reflective exercises and self-evaluation questionnaires;
- written individual report – in the premium version.
14. How do you handle students of different proficiency levels in the same group?
In the case of mixed levels within a group, teachers consult with a methodology specialist and jointly develop an action plan. Before proposing a group change, the teacher talks with the student. Our goal is to provide each course participant with the support they need to make language progress. If changing groups is not possible, the client is informed about the level differences, and the teacher receives methodological support to effectively conduct classes with a group of varied abilities.
15. Do you have an e-learning platform for learning?
Yes, we have our own e-learning platform. Our English learning platform includes courses related to IT, e-commerce, and e-business, as well as general business topics and a grammar module.
16. How large are the language groups you conduct?
We recommend intimate groups of up to 6 people (small groups of 2-3 people or standard groups of 4-6 people). In such a configuration, each participant has the opportunity to speak freely and take part in various communicative activities and exercises (pair work and small group work). We also offer individual classes, which allow full personalization of working methods and course topics.
17. Which classes are more effective: individual or group?
It all depends on your needs and goals. If you have very specific individual needs and goals (e.g., preparing for a job interview, a presentation at an industry conference, or a Business English exam), we recommend individual classes. However, if you are concerned with working on confidence, fluency, and accuracy in an environment resembling everyday business relationships, we recommend group courses, where you practice communicative aspects of language, learn from other course participants, have space to share experiences, and enjoy interacting with others during discussions, business meeting simulations, role plays, and other communicative exercises. Contact us and tell us about your expectations, and we will propose the most appropriate educational solution.
18. How long does it take for an employee to learn the language to the point of working independently in English?
This is an individual matter. We become independent language users upon reaching level B1 (intermediate), which enables effective communication in most everyday and typical professional situations. Fluency is achieved at level B2 (upper-intermediate).
According to Cambridge Assessment Centre, the following language proficiency levels are reached after completing the corresponding number of hours: 180-200 hours – A2 level, 350-400 hours – B1 level, 500-600 hours – B2 level, 700-800 hours – C1 level, and 1000-1200 hours – C2 level. Hours from previous levels accumulate, so after completing 200 hours and reaching A2 level, you need another 150-200 hours of study to reach (B1) level.
The pace of learning is influenced by the student’s natural predispositions, as well as the quality of classes, learning comfort, and motivation.
19. How do you work with different types of students, e.g. introverts? Do you have special methods?
When selecting teaching methods and types of language activities, we consider personality differences and student preferences. We appropriately pair students for partner or group work, and also allow individual work, provide adequate support, and give feedback individually rather than in a public forum. If a student needs significant support and an adaptation period before joining a group, it is possible to arrange individual classes that serve as both a language “warm-up” and an opportunity to build communicative confidence.
20. What is the difference between a business course and an industry-specific course?
Business language courses focus mainly on language and communication skills related to business, such as: presentations, negotiations, customer service, writing emails, preparing offers, or reports. The topics are more universal, and the issues discussed during classes are characteristic of the corporate environment. The goal of these courses is to develop language skills that enable fluent and effective communication with clients, contractors, and colleagues. In contrast, industry-specific language courses focus on specific issues, specialised vocabulary, and skills related to a given industry or field, e.g., IT, finance, HR, or digital marketing.
21. What does the English for IT language course involve?
The “English for IT” course is focused on the needs of people working in the IT industry or interested in this field. The main goal is to develop language skills in the context of information technology and communication in the IT environment. The course combines learning specialised terminology based on authentic materials with reviewing practical grammatical issues and the functional language necessary for communication. Many of our IT students are very comfortable with technical terminology, but their challenge is placing vocabulary in a communicative context to effectively convey information, give feedback to a colleague, ask a client about needs, or present project progress. We fill in the gaps, teach useful phrases, and practice communication in specific communicative situations. Additionally, we develop soft skills, including teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and time management skills in English.
