English for advanced learners: C1 or C2?
The Council of Europe scale (The Common European Framework of Reference – CEFR) distinguishes six levels of language proficiency (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2) and divides them into three groups (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). Advanced English courses are delivered at levels C1 and C2.
English level C1 is a course designed for those who have upper-intermediate language skills and want to improve their skills and expand their vocabulary, so it is addressed to learners who have completed level B2 courses.
English level C2 is an English course for advanced learners expanding and consolidating all the language skills they have acquired so far, focusing on an intensive expansion of vocabulary and polishing grammar, including the most difficult areas.
